Sensex sheds 200 pts, Nifty below 11,450; Vedanta slips 3%


Indian indices were trading in the negative territory in the early trade.

At 9.33 am, the BSE Sensex lost over 200 points, at 38,043.50 levels, while the broader Nifty50 was down 69 points at 11,429 levels.

The BSE Sensex opened at 38,244.18 levels while Nifty50 opened at 11,478.70 levels.

The Sensex was dragged by Vedanta, HDFC, Reliance and Tata Motors that was down over 1 per cent each, with an execption of Vedanta, which was down over 3 per cent.

Broader market saw relatively better performance with Nifty Midcap down 0.23 per cent against benchmark Nifty50, which was down 0.54 per cent.

All the sectoral indices on Nifty were trading in red with an average fall og 0.5 per cent.
On Tuesday, Indian indices witnessed heavy sell off as fears grew regarding global growth as the US and China stare at a breakdown in the trade deal.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended 324 points, or 0.84 per cent, lower at 38,277 levels while the broader Nifty50 lost over 200 points, or 0.87 per cent, to settle the day at 11,498 levels
